the lovely owner of our apartment building
let us spend a few days in midway at her vacation home there.
it was a brief reprieve from tenants, and leaks, and locksmiths, and mowing,
and vacuuming, and the city, and noise... oh wait, we brought that with.
it was a brief reprieve for our upstairs neighbor, then.
THE HIGHLIGHTS...
fishing with dad:
sadly, no pictures of scott's rock-skipping super power.
hanging out in the yard: backyard and play-yard
almost out...
and painful defeat:
this is my favorite picture of nora, it pretty much captures her personality perfectly:
i call it, "restrained annoyance."
yes, we had a giant back yard to play in, and yes, we locked nora in a tent.
if you knew her, you wouldn't be shaking your head right now...
this next picture was taken moments before nora, with both hands full, ate off the table like a dog because, as i said, her hands were full.
she's pretty serious about a couple things in this old world: food and screaming.
a little park time... even out of town parks are better.
we went home the round about way and stopped off in gunnison.
of the 55 hours of our blessed vacation, we spent probably one-fifth in the car due to piss-poor planning and other such nonsense.
nora was like:
only LOUDER.
aiden was like:
only more red. oh, and dirty.
...and the cop that pulled us over was like, "i'll let you go with a warning" after waking up our baby at 10 o' clock at night.
that there's a tender mercy.

I can't believe how big Nora is!!!!! She doesn't even look like I remember her. So sad we're not there to watch! Looks like you guys had a fun vacation. You guys deserve it!
You are so good at capturing the humor in our every day! I love this post! Nora cracks me up... I know what you mean about confining. So glad you were able to take a vacation and that you seem to be doing well. I have missed you much!
