Both my babes are asleep and I actually have a few minutes to post... I have to say this whole "mom of two" thing is harder than I thought.  So here's the scoop:

Four days overdue, contractions start late Monday night... I'm tempted to call the doctor, but I've got an appointment scheduled for the next morning, so we wait.   It was a bold move, it could have jinxed the whole thing:  but I told Scott we were bringing all our bags (and the baby seat) to the hospital for our appointment--I wasn't 100% sure it was active labor, but I was hopeful.  My midwife checked me and told us we could go downstairs and get checked in!  Glorious words!  Called the babysitters (thanks Natasha and Steph), and Scott took the kiddo while I got an IV and waited for my blood work to come back.  I had checked in around noon and got my epidural about 2 hours later.  I have to say, it got a little boring after that.  Scott and I watched movies and waited--Caddyshack was a bad idea, it still hurt to laugh.  We were both already tired from the contraction-filled night before, so it was a long day.  I had slowly progressed to a 7 by 7pm that night but when my midwife checked me an hour later she said I was at a 10.  They turned off the epidural for a little while and we waited some more.  I started pushing around 9pm and we had a few tense moments when her heart rate would drop (just like Aiden's did) but she got through it and little Nora was born at 10:13pm.  The nurse thought it was significant that she was born on 7/13 at 10:13pm weighing 8 lbs. 13 oz.

We got to go home the next night and my recovery has been awesome, probably because I had my mommy here to cook and clean and regulate 4-year-old pandemonium for me.
But the moral of the story is... C-sections suck; avoid when possible.
