I adore September,
when the air starts to smell different;
like you can smell the cold before you can feel it.
Life seems so much clearer without the hum of the air conditioner.

When it's gone we'll remember:

chicken noodle soup--semiweekly

Nora's blessing

cleaning the Temple

speaking in church

scholastic book orders and school pictures

dentist appointments and the fear of root canals

a lovely drive up the canyon

impromptu Sunday naps at 5 o'clock at night

hospital bills... and crying

two months old and wee Nora still hasn't received a birth certificate, but she does have an insurance deductible.  And so the philosophical question arises, is she really ours before we pay her off 18 months from now?  I kid.  But our little fattie is now pushing the 10 lb envelope, and she's worth every grand.

Playing with friends
A whole new experience for us; I said playing with, not next to.  This by the way, is Aiden’s bff from across the hall.  They’ll be moving in a month.  Pray for us.

Friday mornings with no school and the elusive hope of sleeping in

in their defense, and I think you'll agree,
kids are much nicer when they wake you up than when you wake them up.

running kids ragged,
running ourselves ragged,
running our babysitters ragged.... roofing

This was before it rained:

and after:

I'll miss you September, it's downhill from here...

Yes, I was going to say the same as Teneill. Your birthday is part of September. Hope you're having a great day! And you look great, in fact amazing for having a 2 month old. September is a beautiful month, and I love how eloquently you worded it. We re-roofed our house this month too--fun times.
